WHO WE ARE

Established in August 2016, Purple Sage Kitchen started from humble beginnings, a great idea at the kitchen table and very hard. This family business, located in Southern Ontario, Canada is committed to providing their customers with natural seasoning and spice blends that are great tasting, better-for-you, low sodium, carbohydrate-free, cholesterol-free and non-GMO. All at a reasonable price.

"As a young girl, I grew up in a diverse and vibrant leafy neighbourhood, food was an integral and familiar component of my childhood. The majority of my neighbours had a kitchen garden in their backyard, so as you can imagine, a lot of sharing and learning took place. A dear and sweet Italian lady taught me how to make homemade marinara sauce and pizza, and a warm-hearted Greek grandmother showed me the techniques in making the perfect zucchini stew. As for my mother, a proud Jamaican, she was an exceptional home chef who made the most delicious dishes from scratch. She rarely used recipes except on occasions when she baked cakes, other than that, cooking consisted of a pinch of this and a dash of that. On weekends I was eager to get into the kitchen to be the best sous-chef as we prepared traditional family dinners. A favourite part of my job was to grab the best culinary herbs from our kitchen garden – sage, thyme, rosemary, scallion and peppers to flavour the meal. I understood from a very young age the importance of sourcing quality ingredients. These formative experiences helped lay the foundation for Purple Sage Kitchen."
